When he launched Auctions for Causes, Tom was motivated by two things—helping non-profits and entertaining people by engaging them in the event. He has been doing both for over 30 years. Over that time Tom has been a generous donor and volunteer. He has served on boards, often in a leadership role—Episcopal Diocese of Minnesota, TRUST group of churches, American Cancer Society, and Agamim Classical Academy, among others.
He has performed as an actor, musician, dancer, MC and producer. In the 1980s he resurrected the shows at the Edgewater Inn, recreating the popular Edgewater Eight format. In 1983 he was a semi-finalist on the TV show Dance Fever! Tom knows how to entertain a crowd and pry open their checkbooks. He also understands that the “show” is not on the stage—it’s in the audience!
Tom has been auctioneering at gala events since the 1990s. He has recently “upped his game” by attending the prestigious Missouri Auction School, the world’s oldest and largest school of auctioneering. You can be sure that Tom will provide the highest level of auction professionalism and entertainment value, which will raise more money for your worthy cause.
Tom’s wife Helen has been organizing charity fundraisers for over 30 years.
She knows what gala-goers like, and she knows what makes a benefit event successful. Over the years she has served on gala committees for Our Saviour’s Housing, Episcopal Community Services, Plymouth Congregational Church, Minneapolis Chamber Orchestra, Arthritis Foundation, and many others.
Helen is available to help gala committees with planning and item selection for silent and live auctions.
Auctions For Causes helps non-profit organizations and churches raise funds by offering entertaining live auctions at gala benefit events.
